As we celebrate our seniors, today’s spotlight is on Colin Lentz. Wearing the #27 jersey, Colin has been a dedicated player in the Greater Latrobe Soccer program, beginning his soccer journey with Loyalhanna at the age of seven and continuing through the school team since 7th grade. His commitment, determination, and passion for the game have made him a valuable teammate and leader on and off the field.
Beyond Soccer: A Scholar and Explorer
Colin’s dedication extends far beyond soccer. He is an active member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, and French Club. His academic excellence and involvement in various organizations demonstrate his curiosity, work ethic, and leadership.
Outside of school, Colin enjoys kayaking, stargazing with his telescope, traveling, and spending time with family. His love for exploring—whether through nature, science, or new experiences—reflects his adventurous spirit and thirst for knowledge.
Favorite Memory: A Playoff Run to Remember
One of Colin’s most cherished soccer memories is helping the team reach the playoffs last season. That accomplishment was the result of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance, proving that dedication to the game pays off. Making the playoffs was not just about winning—it was about overcoming challenges, growing together as a team, and creating lifelong memories.
Future Plans: Reaching for the Stars
Colin is still deciding between Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Colorado Boulder, but one thing is certain—his future is bright and limitless. He plans to major in Aerospace Engineering, a field that perfectly complements his passion for science, exploration, and innovation.
His love for space, engineering, and discovery has fueled his ambition to design and build the future of aerospace technology. Whether he chooses Embry-Riddle, known for its elite aviation and aerospace programs, or CU Boulder, a leader in aerospace research, Colin is determined to push boundaries and explore new frontiers.
Words of Thanks
“I want to thank my mom, dad, and the rest of my family for supporting me, as well as Coach Rice, Jeff, and Zach for making these last few seasons ones to remember.”
Colin’s gratitude highlights the importance of family, mentorship, and teamwork in shaping his journey. His support system—both on and off the field—has played a crucial role in his development as a student-athlete.
Words of Wisdom
“It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low.”
This mindset perfectly captures Colin’s ambition, determination, and willingness to take on challenges. His approach to learning, sports, and life is about pushing limits, setting big goals, and continuously striving for success—no matter how difficult the journey may be.
Colin, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and perseverance throughout your years with Greater Latrobe Soccer. Your commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics has left a lasting impact on your teammates and coaches. As you prepare for your next adventure in aerospace engineering, we have no doubt that you will continue to aim high and achieve great things.
Best of luck, Colin! The sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning.
