Summer Wrap-Up | Greater Latrobe Boys Soccer

As summer winds down and preseason approaches, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything our players and families accomplished over the last few months. The Greater Latrobe Boys Soccer summer wasn’t just about conditioning and camp—it was a season of connection, commitment, and community. From new players taking their first steps on the pitch to returning veterans stepping up as leaders, we saw the program grow stronger every week.

Training Hard, Growing Stronger

Our high school players kicked off the summer with structured strength and conditioning sessions designed to build stamina, speed, and resilience. These sessions laid the foundation for the team’s technical training in July and ensured our athletes stayed game-ready year-round.

While the varsity and JV players built endurance and sharpened skills, our Junior High squad put in their own work—attending the SVC Team Camp and preparing for their fall season. It’s been exciting to watch our younger athletes bring energy and heart to every training session and summer event.

Camps, Clinics & Competitive Edge

For many players, the highlight of the summer was CalU Team Camp. In four focused days of competition and team bonding, players elevated their game and strengthened their chemistry. This experience builds not only performance but trust—critical for any successful season.

If you missed the opportunity to attend a camp this year, be sure to check out our previous blog: College Soccer ID Camp Checklist. And for extra at-home training, explore YouTube channels like Become Elite and 7MLC to keep the momentum going.

Serving Our Community

Our summer wasn’t just about soccer—it was about service. In June, players volunteered at the 100th Anniversary Westmoreland Airshow, lending a hand to vendors and organizers and proudly representing the program. Then, in July, the team returned to support Steeler Night, one of our favorite annual community events. Their positive attitude and work ethic didn’t go unnoticed by the community or our coaching staff.

Final Thoughts

Every year, the off-season gives our athletes a chance to redefine what’s possible—and this Greater Latrobe Boys Soccer summer proved once again that hard work and heart go a long way.
