2025 Junior High Team Captain | Class of 2030
Owning the Box
Vinny Cicero loves the pressure that comes with the gloves. His favorite position is goalkeeper—a role he calls a “stand-out position” where he gets to be the last line of defense. Whether it’s cutting off an angle or smothering a breakaway, Vinny embraces the responsibility of protecting the net and setting the tone from the back.
Leading by Example
As a Junior High captain, Vinny’s voice and presence matter. He organizes the back line, encourages teammates, and brings calm in big moments—leadership traits that elevate everyone on the field.
Moments That Matter
Ask Vinny for his favorite Wildcat memories and he’ll talk about the bus rides—those post-game recaps, jokes, and team traditions that make a season unforgettable. He also loved the days with practice right after school, when the whole team walked together to Rotary Field. It’s the small, everyday rituals that build a real team.
Student of the Game (and the Classroom)
In school, Vinny gravitates to Science, which tracks with the way he approaches goalkeeping: observe, analyze, and react. Outside of soccer, he’s into fishing and anything to do with sports cars—a mix of patience, precision, and a love of speed that fits a keeper who’s ready to spring when it counts.
Role Models & Next Steps
Vinny looks up to Cristiano Ronaldo for his foot skills and total dedication to the sport (and, as Vinny jokes, because “he’s not Messi”). Looking ahead, he’s focused on improving his 1v1 situations—closing space faster, staying big, and timing the tackle—so he can turn more dangerous chances into routine saves.
With confidence in the box, a captain’s presence, and a clear plan to level up, #18 gives the Wildcats exactly what every team needs: a keeper who thrives when the game is on the line.
