Junior High Player Spotlight: Captain Will Hebenthal (#7)

For Captain Will Hebenthal (#7), soccer is all about finding balance on the field. His favorite position is center midfield, where he gets the chance to contribute to both offense and defense. “My favorite position is center mid because I can help on both offense and defense,” Will explained.

One of his favorite memories so far with Latrobe Soccer has been the team’s summer practices. The chance to train with high school players, get to know them, and learn from their example made a lasting impact. Those experiences not only improved his skills but also gave him a glimpse into the future of the Wildcats program.

Off the field, Will enjoys science—his favorite subject in school. “I like science, it’s fun,” he said, reflecting his curiosity and interest in learning. He also follows Arsenal FC, a team he finds exciting to watch and one that inspires his own style of play.

As a captain, Will embraces the responsibility of setting the tone for his teammates. Whether it’s working hard in practice, encouraging others, or staying composed in the heat of competition, he leads with a steady presence in the midfield. His ability to connect play and support both ends of the pitch makes him a vital contributor to the Wildcats’ success.
