Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness Soccer is our program’s call to unite soccer, community, and advocacy this October. While our October 11 game will be the in-game Pink Out celebration, this post explains why it matters, how to get involved, and how Wildcats soccer amplifies awareness in Latrobe.
Why Pink Matters Beyond the Field
Breast cancer touches millions of lives—women, men, families, and friends. In the United States, about 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in her lifetime, and about 1 in 833 men will also face this diagnosis. By bringing awareness to the soccer field, we show that Wildcats stand for more than goals and wins—we stand for unity, health, and hope.
How the Wildcats Will Honor Pink Out 2025
- Wear Pink & Pack the Stands: On Saturday, October 11, fans, players, and staff will wear pink. Let’s fill Rossi Field in pink to show solidarity.
- Survivor Recognition: We’ll honor local survivors and those we’ve lost before halftime—listening to stories that inspire and rally us.
- Fundraising & Donations: Support our team’s Pink Out Fundraiser for Susan G. Komen. Every dollar goes directly to breast cancer research and patient programs.
- Awareness & Education: During the week leading up, we’ll share stories, facts, and prevention tips to encourage everyone in our community to take action.
Breast Cancer Awareness + Soccer = Impact
Sports teams have powerful platforms. By coupling athletic events with social causes, we reach beyond fans and into hearts. In announcing Go Pink for the Cure 2025 earlier this season, we joined a global movement of giving and solidarity while also amplifying local impact. As the Pink Out game approaches, we’re adding momentum with education, resources, and a clear call to action for our Wildcat community.
How You Can Help—Get Involved
- Wear Pink on Oct 11th: Encourage teammates, students, and local businesses to join in. A sea of pink makes a powerful statement.
- Buy or Share Merchandise: Wildcats “Wear Pink” gear is available at Shop SportzMom’s. Proceeds benefit breast cancer research and support programs.
- Donate & Fundraise: Use our Pink Out fundraiser page and share it with friends. Every gift, big or small, moves the mission forward.
- Share Stories: Submit names or stories of loved ones affected by breast cancer—these tributes will be part of our recognition ceremony.
- Pass Awareness Beyond Game Night: Talk about prevention, mammograms, self-exams, and supporting caregivers. The conversation is as important as the event.

Tying It All Back to Latrobe Soccer
At Greater Latrobe, soccer is a channel—connecting student-athletes and families to something bigger. With Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness Soccer, we harness that channel to spread awareness and hope. We invite every Wildcat, coach, supporter, and local partner to join us. Raise your voice, wear pink, donate, share stories, and show that our community stands with those fighting breast cancer. Together, we make a difference.
